Licence and updates
Activating the licence key, how updates arrive, and what happens when a licence expires.
The plugin works fully without a licence key. The key is only needed to download updates through the WordPress Updates screen.

Activating
- Find your licence key in your account on flavonto.com.
- In Forms, Settings, Licence, paste the key and select Activate.
- The status shows Active with the update period and how many sites use the key.
Only administrators can see and change the licence. Development and staging copies of a site (addresses such as .local, .test, staging. and common staging hosts) do not use up an activation.
What is sent
Nothing is sent to the licence server until you save a key. After that, the licence server receives the key, your site's address, whether the site looks like a staging copy, and the plugin version: when you activate, once a day, and when WordPress checks for updates. No form content, entries or user data are sent.
Updates
Updates appear on the Plugins and Updates screens like any other plugin, and WordPress automatic updates work for this plugin too. Update packages are only accepted from flavonto.com over HTTPS.
When a licence expires or the server cannot be reached
- Forms, submissions, entries and every feature keep working.
- An expired licence shows the update notice without a download.
- If the licence server cannot be reached, an active licence stays active for two weeks while the check is retried.
Moving a site
Select Remove from this site before moving, then activate the key on the new site. If the old site is gone, activating on the new site is still possible within your licence's site limit; contact support if you reach the limit.
